Spring Guarantees Change

As I write this I am looking through the window into the 'secret garden' next door and listening to the soothing sounds of the Pacific Ocean. The morning’s warmth of a promising Summer slowly disappeared into an afternoon of Spring's moody moist skies. Today reminds me of the one thing we can rely on, and that is change. When we fully accept this constant change, not getting affected by the highs and lows of life, we can enjoy what that brings - a sense of peace, balance and well-being. 


The nature of Spring guarantees us change, it is the time of transition.  Yoga supports us through this transition from the Winter slumber to Spring vitality and new life with stimulating and revitalizing postures and meditations that sustain the release of deep seated emotions. It's a spring thing…..like cracking open the dormant pranic blocks, the stagnations that lay idle waiting for the right conditions. The vitality of Spring offers a liberation or Moksha that gives us the opportunity to be released from old patterns of being, to let go mundane existence, your samsara's.  This spring, receive the abundant life force, vitality and creativity the season offers.

Start with that 10 minute Yoga practice you have been promising yourself every morning. This will boost sluggish digestion, enhance lymph movement, release congestion and accelerate the detox process.  Many 10 minute Yoga practices will be available on the website soon.


Spring is a great time of the year to cleanse. Adding more veges and fruits into your diet with some juicing will kick start your detox. Don't forget that dry skin brushing is the best to stimulate your lymphatic system, (more on that later). Your neti-pot will cleanse the nasal passages, ears & eyes, remove pollutants and ward off colds. Don’t forget your Oil Pulling.

You will see a GREAT improvement when you do your Yoga regularly and lighten up food intake. You’ll be surprised how radiantly alive, vital, uplifted and calm you’ll feel. Have a great month!

I am delighted to recommend Kate Nirlipta to anyone at all who is interested in experiencing heart based wisdom through embodied yoga. She is simply the best yoga teacher I have been fortunate enough to learn from. Her approach remains influential in my own practice and teaching.
